Elements of our approach:

Emergent design: Facilitators are skilled at adapting the agenda in the middle of a workshop to adapt to the needs of a group and better meet their learning goals. Our facilitators often use “diagnostic” tools in the beginning of workshops to assess group needs and make agenda changes. This way, they’re open to what issues, challenges, and growth edges are present. Emergent design isn’t about letting the group do whatever it wants – it’s the ability to identify transformative moments where new content can most effectively be learned.

Different learning styles: Traditional education- stresses reading, writing, and lectures as the major modes of learning. We recognize people learn in all sorts of different ways: visual, auditory, through the body (kinesthetic), through heart connection, and more. We design diversity of learning styles — for example using Experience  Based Learning activities  and other kinesthetic tools, instead of relying only on auditory and visual learning channels.

Our training workshops draw on the shared experience of participants, using interactive exercises, discussions, games and role-plays to examine the ways we respond to situations where injustice, prejudice, frustration and anger can lead to aggressive behaviour and violence.

The best way to get a sense of our approach is to experience it yourself in a training workshop!

CUSTOM Training Workshops

Bikalpa  Training Center offers many public workshops, but most of our training is custom designed for specific organizations or groups.

Beyond custom workshops, our facilitators also support groups on curriculum design, consultation projects or campaigns, and one-on-one skills coaching.

If you’re interested in having a BTC Trainer/facilitator work with your group, write or call us with a short summary of what you’re looking for.
