Stay Connected:
This spring marked a beautiful season of rebuilding, renewal, and hope for the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) in Nepal.
Together, John Michaelis, Sue Wozniak, Don McPhee, Ram Paudel, and Sharada Sharma shared an inspiring journey of learning, connection, and transformation. In Kathmandu, 21 passionate participants completed the Training for Facilitators (T4F), ready to carry the spirit of AVP into their communities, organizations, and everyday lives.
What made these workshops truly special was not only the learning, but the way we learned together—with open hearts, deep listening, laughter, consensus, meaningful dialogue, and the courage to embrace mistakes as opportunities for growth. Every voice mattered. Every story was honored.
Peace is not simply something we teach. It is something we live, one conversation, one relationship, and one act of compassion at a time.
This journey reminded us that the greatest transformation begins within ourselves. When we choose empathy over judgment, understanding over division, and love over fear, we become living examples of the peaceful world we hope to create.
Looking ahead, Ram dreams of nurturing a dedicated AVP facilitator team in the Pokhara region—a community of people who grow not only in facilitation skills, but in compassion, self-awareness, collective care, and the courage to serve others with humility.
Every new facilitator is a seed of peace. Every workshop plants hope. Every heart that changes has the power to change a community.
Thank you to everyone who walked this journey together. May the ripple of peace continue to grow across Nepal and beyond. 💙
